Once you go to a swimming pool party with Diddy… it’s over”: Partying With P Diddy Made Devin Haney an Easy Target For Ryan Garcia Before His First Boxing Loss

Ryan Garcia used Devin Haney’s association with P Diddy’s notorious parties to mock him before their boxing match, which Haney ultimately lost.

P Diddy aka Sean Combs’ infamous parties are really taking an L after all the controversy surrounding them and the disgraced music mogul, and so are all the people who attended those parties as well. Unfortunately for professional boxer Devin Haney, he comes under this category too, considering how he has seemingly been a prominent part of Combs’ pool parties.

While attending those parties and posting about them was one thing, it all further seems to have had given his opponent Ryan Garcia leverage over him back in the day, before he got knocked out by Garcia in their first professional boxing match. This is because Garcia didn’t hesitate to use this very element from his opponent’s past to target Haney before their first match.

Ryan Garcia Broiled Devin Haney Over His Pool Parties With P Diddy

Amidst the raging controversial battle between Garcia – the former World Boxing Council interim lightweight champion (2021), and Haney – the multiple world championships holder in two weight classes (2022-2024), an old clip of Ryan Garcia dissing his opponent before their first professional boxing match has recently surfaced.

This comment is back from when Haney candidly decided to let the world know – through a now-deleted post on his Instagram – that he was one of the partygoers of the notorious throwdowns by P Diddy. While the image, which featured him standing topless with the disgraced record executive, earned a lot of backlash, it also earned him some cocky remarks from Garcia.

In an interview with DAZN before their match, Garcia was seen talking about how he felt about it all as (via @hypeandhiphop on Instagram):

Once you go to a swimming pool party with Diddy, it’s like you don’t even pay attention to what the f–k he’s saying. But, at the end of the day, once your b–tyh-le got tickled, it’s over. You can’t even say nothing after that.

Of course, this comment was controversial, but the series of events that followed were even more controversial than this. In the professional boxing match that followed between the two, while Garcia originally won the bout via majority decision, he reportedly tested positive for Ostarine the day before and the day of his fight.

This had the bout changed to a no-contest, with Devin Haney eventually retaining the WBC super-lightweight belt as Garcia didn’t make the weight. But while that was that, Haney doesn’t seem to want to let it go as he recently filed a lawsuit against Garcia for one too many things – something that has the 26-year-old boxer refusing to rematch him.

According to exclusive reports, Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) has reportedly filed a lawsuit against Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs), alleging him of battery, fraud, and unjust enrichment. This comes after the events that Garcia was reported by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association to have tested positive for the banned PED Ostarine, a performance-enhancing drug.

However, in return, Garcia seems to be stripping Haney of the chance to get a rematch with him. This happened after @RyanGarcia took to X to say (via Boxing News 24/7): “It’s a money grab. What he’s doing is going to get him more money. I don’t know why he’s dragging it out… I’m not going to give him a rematch after this. After the suing and all the funny business.”

Assuming Garcia actually means every word he has said, this situation could take a toll on Haney as he is not a pay-per-view draw, and there are no big PPV stars at 140 or 147. Thus, not getting a rematch with Garcia and getting stranded in this lawsuit, which probably won’t even get him the big bucks he might be looking for, would end up putting Haney in a seriously tough spot.

So far, it seems like things aren’t really looking good for Devin Haney – just like they aren’t looking good for the disgraced music mogul Sean Combs.
