The loving station Dog will always be in the hearts of Fir.efighters!

Such a well deserved memorial.

What a beautiful memorial. May Negro forever watch over your entire family from above. Rest In a peace Sweet-one.

The fi.refig.hters at the Iquique Fi.re Department are no strangers to this sweet dog, and they express their heartfelt love and gratitude to him!

Negro has been a station dog for the Iquique Fi.re Department for more than a decade. Negro kept an eye on things as firefighters were dispatched to the em.ergency, and when they returned, he greeted them with a wagging tail.

The fir.efighters’ work is stressful when they are usually faced with dan.ger and fat.igue, but the appearance of Nergo has made them much happier!
Nergo completed his mission successfully for many years before dy.ing at the age of 14. This is [dev.astating] news for the fir.efighters of Iquique, Chile.

This afternoon, one from our ranks le.ft the earth — our four-legged fir.efighter, We appreciate all the years you’ve spent with us. We’ll never forget you.
Negro was one of us, one of this family. He was respected, loved; said Fire Chief Jorge Tapia.

The fi.re department held an [honor fun.eral] for the beloved dog as part of their heartfelt farewell. The department’s board of directors decided to go one step further and bestow the noble title of [honorary fir.efighter] on the dog.

Negro was laid to rest in an estate not far from where he had served so thoughtfully. A tree was also planted nearby, the tree that will live on in everyone’s minds as Negro’s shadow. A fitting tribute to a wonderful pup: In memory of our Negro. Faithful pet, friend, and protector.

Nergo, the adorable dog, is resting in peace, but he was a wonderful companion to the fir.efighters while he was alive, and they will miss him forever!

Thank you for your service prayers hugs for all! Wonderful tribute to this amazing dog who will never be forgotten.

God bless the dog!  Sending love their way and R.I.P. Negro
