Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury in Riyadh on Saturday
Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk have both received a boxing suspension after their controversial rematch on Saturday (21 December).
The pair went head-to-head at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia following their previous boxing bout in May.
Their last fight saw Usyk hand Fury the first-ever defeat of his professional career, and the rematch had the same result.
The Ukrainian defeated the Gypsy King following a unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the battle 116-112.
But no matter how much fans enjoyed watching the pair, they’ll have to wait a short while until they can see either of them in action again thanks to a suspension.

It’s not as bad as it sounds though, this kind of suspension isn’t as if the two men have been naughty at school and have to take some time off.
Instead, it’s simply down to the fact the board requires both boxers to rest for three days for every round fought in the match.
And as Fury and Usyk went the whole-hog and lasted the full 12 rounds on Saturday night, they’ll each have to rest for at least 24 days before getting back in the ring.
Both of the fighters will of course also been fully assessed by medical experts afterwards to make sure they hadn’t sustained any serious injuries.
The suspension could’ve been much longer if the fight had ended differently.
For example, if one of them had been defeated by technical knockout (when the referee decides they cannot safely carry on with the mach), they would have had to rest for a minimum of 30 days.
And if someone had lost by a good old clear knockout, they would’ve faced this kind of suspension for at least 60 days.

Following his defeat to Usyk, Fury cast a bit of doubt over when and if he will fight again.
“What’s next for me? I’m going home and having some time off,” he said to the press.
And when asked if we will get to see him stepping into the ring again, he continued: “You might do, you might not do. Who knows?
“We’ll talk about that next year.”
Ah, a man of few words.
Although, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has however hinted we could be seeing the Gypsy King in the ‘biggest fight probably in the history of British boxing’ at some point.Featured Image Credit: Mark Robinson/Getty Images/Richard Pelham/Getty Images

Oleksandr Usyk defeats Tyson Fury by unanimous decision in fierce rematch
Oleksandr Usyk remains undefeated in the boxing ring
Oleksandr Usyk has defeated Tyson Fury for a second time in Riyadh to remain the heavyweight champion of the world and the undisputed king of the boxing ring, this time doing it by unanimous decision.
All three judges scored the fight 116-112 in Usyk’s favour.
Usyk had won their previous fight earlier this year by split decision, having managed to land some mighty blows against the previously unbeaten Fury, and at the rematch he came out on top once again.
While Fury had declared that boxing fans could ‘watch me go to work on this f**ker’, it was Usyk’s fists that once again proved why they’re the best in the business as they did a job on Fury.
After his defeat last time around, Fury promised to cut down on the showboating and the joking before the fight, but it ultimately did him no real favours as Usyk came out on top once more.
Before the fight the Ukrainian’s camp had been concerned about the size of Fury’s beard, though boxing officials confirmed that everything was OK for the pair to knock seven shades of s**t out of each other.

The fight started in a somewhat cagey manner as each fighter tried to find an opening and throw their punches, with Usyk’s arms moving near constantly in an attempt to counter the superior reach of Fury.
Fury had won the previous three rematches of his career, but ultimately couldn’t find what he needed to defeat Usyk and avenge his previous defeat. The Ukrainian was just too good.
While Fury looked better in the opening rounds of the fight, just as he did last time he fought Usyk, the champion stayed in it and looked increasingly impressive as the fight went on.
Fury seemed to struggle more and more the longer the fight went and it was here that Usyk landed some solid punches.
In the end the story of the second fight ended up being reasonably similar to the way the first went, it went to a dozen rounds and Usyk grew into the fight as it went on.

In round 11, Usyk landed a couple of very important blows to Fury’s head while Fury seemed like his tank was draining and the veritable man-mountain looked to be lumbering.
By the end of the fight it was clear that Usyk was in the ascendancy, and the judges all agreed that he’d had the best of it.
Since he remains undefeated, the next question for Usyk is whether he will ever step into the ring with an opponent that manages to defeat him or if it will be time, that undefeated opponent, which ultimately spells an end to the 37-year-old’s career.
Usyk celebrates his 38th birthday next month and the question of how long he can keep this up will no doubt be hanging over his career, but such is the case for every great boxer.
While he said he’d want to go home and have a rest, Usyk was confronted in the ring by Daniel Dubois who appeared to want to be the next man to fight the champion.
The win means that Usyk has done the double over Fury in heavyweight boxing, which is an incredibly impressive feat that must surely leave fans of the sport in no doubt as to who the finest heavyweight boxer in the world currently is.
Meanwhile, just as speculation over what Usyk does next is inevitable the question hanging over Tyson Fury is where he goes from here.Featured Image Credit: Richard Pelham/Getty Images

Tyson Fury has furious response after hearing AI Judge’s scorecard for rematch against Oleksandr Usyk
The Gypsy King was not impressed by the innovative technology
Tyson Fury was not impressed after learning how AI scored his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.
Last night saw Fury step back into the ring for a rematch against the Ukrainian boxer after losing via split decision back in May.
However, the Gypsy King’s furious comeback campaign – which included not speaking to wife Paris Fury for months – was all in vain as judges scored the rematch in Usyk’s favour once again, allowing the 37-year-old the retain his belts and undefeated status.

The bout also featured the controversial use of an experimental AI judge as part of an experiment championed by Turki Alalshikh, Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment chairman.
The computer generated scorecard had no impact on the result of the actual fight and was simply present for research purposes, which is probably a good thing for Fury, given how his performance was scored.
While all three judges scored 116-112 in Usyk’s favour, AI scored the match 118-112 in the Ukrainian’s favour and awarded him the third, fourth, and sixth to 11th rounds.
Meanwhile, Fury was given the second and fifth rounds while the first and last were considered a tie.
The harsh scoring inevitably made it’s way back to Fury after going viral on the internet, and the 36-year-old did not hold back his thoughts during a later press conference.
😅Tyson Fury’s reaction on AI scoring the fight 118-112 to Oleksandr Usyk: “F*ck all computers. Keep the humans going. More jobs for humans, less jobs for computers.” 🎥 YT Seconds Out ▫️
“F**k all computers,” he told reporters after being asked for his thoughts on using AI in sports.
“Keep the humans going. More jobs for humans, less jobs for computers.
The boxer also shared his scathing thoughts on modern technology as well, adding: “And f**k electric cars too while we’re at it.”
Despite the expletive filled reaction from Fury, Alalshikh remained positive about the future of AI in boxing, sharing an image of the computer generated scorecard on X alongside the caption: “Here’s The Ring’s AI-powered judge’s experimental scorecard from the Usyk2Fury fight.
“While it didn’t influence the official result, it offers a unique and unbiased perspective on the fight.”

Fury also revealed that he thought the fight had gone in his favour, telling Sky Sports: “I swear to God, I thought I won by three rounds!”
His promoter Frank Warren was also left baffled by the final scorecards, branding the judge’s decision as ‘nuts’.
“It’s impossible. It’s crazy. It’s a nonsense. What fight were they watching?” Warren told DAZN (via The Independent).
“It’s nuts. It’s nuts, I don’t get it. I’m really disappointed with that. I thought he was in control of the fight and boxed extremely well. Usyk was on the back foot for most of the fight, but it is what it is.”Featured Image Credit: X/@Home_of_Fight / X/@Turki_alalshikh

Tyson Fury admitted how much money he has in the bank before historic Usyk rematch
The boxer revealed money was his main motivator
Tyson Fury has revealed exactly how much money he has in the bank, ahead of the Usyk rematch on Saturday night.
The boxing star has been open about his astonishing financial situation, after revealing that money is his main motivator for getting in the ring.
And he’s set to land another huge paycheck this weekend (December 21), as he takes on Oleksandr Usyk for the second time this year.
The Gypsy King suffered one of the biggest setbacks of his career in May, after his shock loss to the Ukrainian boxer – which saw him lose his belts and undefeated professional record.

But prior to stepping back into the ring on Saturday night, the star revealed just how much money means to him.
During a recent press conference, the boxer was asked to share his thoughts on former boxer Andy Lee saying it’s hard to accept defeat.
He replied: “Andy Lee never had £200million in his bank to make him happy, did he? So what is my goal, and what is my target?”
After revealing the eye-watering amount, he added: “It’s not a belt. It’s not a legacy. It’s not a boxing fight. It’s to make as much money as possible.”
Fury also admitted that he wants to fight for as long as his body will let him.
He said: “I’ve got to have as many fights as I can until the wheels fall off and I’m 50 years old, crippled with a stick, walking down the street. That’s how I’ll be.”
The boxer admitted that his first question about any fight is how much the pay check is.

Money hungry, he said: “I’ve had 40 professional fights, and I was in every single one of them for the money.
“If I wasn’t getting paid, I wouldn’t have done any of them. I do it for the dough, but I’m the only one that will tell the truth.”
Fury noted that he wasn’t bothered about ‘fame’ or being ‘on TV’ – emphasising his mind was on cash.
But this isn’t the only news that shocked boxing fans prior to the fight.
In an interview with boxing presenter Dev Sahni on Frank Warren’s Queensberry Promotions, the boxer also revealed that he hasn’t spoken to wife Paris Fury in three months.
Fury said: “I’ve not spoken to Paris at all for three months, not one word. Yeah, I’ve sacrificed a lot.
“It will be worth it, 100 percent.”

Ringside footage shows what Paris Fury did after husband Tyson lost to Oleksandr Usyk
Tyson Fury’s wife Paris didn’t hide her reaction when the scores of the bout between him and Usyk were announced on Saturday
Cameras managed to catch Paris Fury’s reaction to her husband’s most recent loss in the ring to Oleksandr Usyk.
Tyson Fury fought in a rematch against Usyk in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night, months after the former lost in May this year.
The Ukrainian once again triumphed over ‘The Gypsy King’, retaining his status as the undisputed heavyweight boxing champion.
All three judges scored the fight 116-112 in favour of ‘The Cat’, meaning that both of Fury’s professional losses have come at the hands of Usyk.

Fans of Fury will surely be disappointed with the result, as many thought that the scores were much closer.
The newly sampled AI judging determined the bout to be 118-112 to be in Usyk’s favour, a scoring method that Fury quickly criticised after the match up.
Despite having no bearing on the final score, Fury said of the use of AI: “F**k all computers.
“Keep the humans going. More jobs for humans, less jobs for computers.”
His disappointment over the result came across in the post-fight press conference though, as the 36-year-old put himself through hell in training camp, going as far to claiming that he hadn’t spoken to his wife or kids in three months as he had his mind set on the rematch.
Fury also revealed that prior to his first fight against Usyk, Paris had suffered a miscarriage, highlighting a tough period for his family.
Sadly for the Furys, Tyson couldn’t best Usyk in the ring, and the frustration was clear on his wife’s face when the judge’s score cards were read aloud after 12 rounds of boxing.

With the camera on her, Paris nervously took some deep breaths, and upon hearing that all three judges scored the fight 116-112, she confidently said ‘Tyson’, before hearing that Usyk had won yet again.
Her expression changed, looking confused and bemused by the decision, shaking her head as boos could be heard from the crowd behind her.
Though the loss will be taken hard by fans of the Wythenshawe-born fighter, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn was quick to tease a potential match against Anthony Joshua for Fury, which is sure to whet the appetite of any sports fan.

Fans took to social media to share what they though of Paris’ reaction to the result, as one wrote: “You can see she knew Fury lost but had to stay in character for the cameras.”
Another said: “She knows she won’t see Tyson at all in 2025,” with a laughing emoji.
A third joked: “She’s like ‘what have you achieved by not talking to me for 3 months?'”
