Malcolm in the Middle Reboot Rumors: Why Dewey Actor’s Return Seems Unlikely

You might have to enjoy your Malcolm in The Middle reboot episodes without Dewey

Malcolm in the Middle is getting a long-awaited reboot, but there’s a reason why Dewey might not be returning.

That’s right.

Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek announced the news via a video posted on social media on 13 December and fans went wild.

With Frankie Muniz set to reprise his role of Malcolm after 18 long years, what more could we as fans ask for?

Maybe, Dewey?

Well, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

While we all loved watching the dysfunctional family navigate life 25 years ago, it’s just not going to be the same.

Muniz, who has opened up about the reprised role, previously said: “I have been waiting for this moment for 18 years. Let’s find out where Malcolm and his family are now.”

With four new episodes commissioned by Disney+, which shows Malcolm and his daughter being hoisted back ‘into the family’s chaos when Hal (Cranston) and Lois (Kaczmarek) demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party’, it’s going to be the closure we all need.

Except, Kaczmarek has revealed that Erik Per Sullivan may not be interested in being reeled back into the spotlight.

The US actress shared the reason why the world hasn’t heard much from the now 33-year-old since the show’s finale.

“He’s well, he’s very, very well,” she said.

“He did Malcolm for seven years, he started at seven, he ended at 14. He wasn’t interested in acting, at all.

“He goes to school at a very prestigious American university that he’s asked us all to be quiet about and he loves Charles Dickens.

“He’s doing graduate work in Victorian literature. I admire it because so many people think being in show-business is the greatest thing in the world, it’s not for everyone.”

Even Muniz has responded to questions about what happened to his co-star, and he gave an honest answer.

Essentially, he’s not too sure.

“To be honest, I don’t know what he’s up to,” he explained. “I hate to say that because I’ve talked to him a few times since the show ended.

“I’ve talked to his parents a lot. When I was in the band, we went and played in the city where he lives and his parents came to the show but unfortunately he couldn’t make it.

“So I got to talk to them, and he’s been all over doing a lot of different things.

“But one thing I know, some actors or some people just got to do it when they were a kid and then they wanted to experience other things and kind of live a more normal life out of the spotlight.

“I think that’s what he wanted to do so good for him.”

Regarding the reboot, the actors who are involved are more than excited to enter back into the crazy world, with Cranston, who went on to break the mould with his Breaking Bad character Walter White, said he couldn’t wait to get back to it.

Kaczmarek added: “What a delight I get to yell at that kid again!

“We’re very excited about coming back together and seeing what this family has been up to.”Featured Image Credit: Fox

Legendary British actor revealed why he regretted performing unsimulated sex in controversial film

An actor revealed why he regretted making a movie which included an unstimulated sex scene.

Movie sex scenes can seem pretty believable at times. I mean, that’s the art of filmmaking, right?

Talented actors, clever camera angles and intimacy coordinators mesh together seamlessly to make us believe that what we’re watching on screen really happened.

But, while actors often go to great lengths for their art, that doesn’t mean some don’t regret their choices.

British acting legend Mark Rylance, who has starred in Wolf Hall and The BFG, has previously admitted that he regrets starring in Intimacy, which came out in 2001.

The erotic film follows a nightclub worker (Rylance) who abandons his family after his wife loses interest in him.

He goes on to meet a woman (Kerry Fox) every week for casual sex, but soon becomes emotionally attached to her and further struggles when he discovers that she’s married.

In an 2016 interview with The Guardian, the now-64-year-old said it was the ‘most difficult job he’d ever had’.

“I was convinced it was a vital story about the difficulties people face finding intimacy in a big city like London.” he said.

“Hanif Kureishi’s writing couldn’t have been more intimate and revealing, but I found the making of the film and the subsequent publicity and personal attacks very, very painful. I wish I hadn’t made it.”

He also claimed in 2015 that he’d felt the director, Patrice Chéreau, who died in 2013, had put ‘undue pressure’ on him to do the sex scene.

“It soured me on my life two months, It’s my mistake, but I felt Patrice put undue pressure on me on set to do that.” he said, as per The Wall Street Journal.

“And at that point I didn’t have the confidence as a film actor to say no.

“Now I think a lot of actors that people say are difficult are actually just being sensible.”

Earlier this year, Margo Stilley told LADbible that she became a target for ‘repressed sexuality’ after starring in Michael Winterbottom’s 2004 film 9 Songs.

Its unsimulated sex scenes received an immense amount of backlash that the actor said was ‘extremely overwhelming.’

“I didn’t understand that I would become the target of Britain’s repressed sexuality and all the rage that comes with sexual repression [and] as the woman I was the figurehead for it.” she said.

However, she still ‘loves’ the film, stating: “It’s a shame that it’s been torn apart into these little pieces and bastardised online, to be honest.”Featured Image Credit: Mike Marsland/WireImage/StudioCanal

Two and a Half Men child star explains why he left Hollywood after becoming highest paid child actor

Two and a Half Men child star explains why he left Hollywood after becoming highest paid child actor

He would abruptly leave the acting industry in 2013

Former child actor Angus T. Jones has revealed the reason why he chose to leave the acting industry behind after finding success on Two and a Half Men.

Most actors enter the industry at a young age, with Jones, now 30, making his acting debut at age of five.

His first role came in the 1999 film Simpatico; however it would be four years later that he landed his first big role, starring as Jake Harper in CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men, alongside Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen.

The former actor would go on to star in a massive 226 episodes, before quitting the role in 2013. He would reprise his role as a guest appearance in the show’s finale two years later.

After winning various Young Artist Awards for his role as Jake, the sky seemed to be the limit for Jones’ career as an actor. He was also the highest paid child actor in Hollywood at the time, pulling in around $300,000 (£236,310) per episode.

However, the money and fame wasn’t enough to keep Jones in acting, as he would ultimately decide to walk away from the industry and pursue higher education at the University of Colorado.

Speaking about his decision to leave the show back in 2014, Jones would tell US news station KHOU that he felt like a ‘hypocrite’ for starring in a show which made fun of real life problems.

“It was making light of topics in our world that are really problems for a lot of people,” he told the outlet.

“I was a paid hypocrite because I wasn’t OK with it, but I was still doing it.”

Jones’ decision to leave the show would coincide with his decision to join the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a socially conservative sect of christianity.

He would go on speak out against his role on Two and a Half Men in religious videos, encouraging fans not to watch the show and branding the series as ‘filth’.

After receiving backlash for his words, Jones would later clarify his comments in a statement to Us Weekly, saying that he had ‘the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and a Half Men’ and that it was never his intention to show ‘indifference’ or ‘disrespect’ to his former colleagues.

“I apologise if my remarks reflect me showing indifference to and disrespect of my colleagues and a lack of appreciation of the extraordinary opportunity of which I have been blessed,” he added.

After taking several years away from the spotlight, Jones would make his return to showbiz in 2023, appearing as a guest star in Bookie and reuniting with his former co-star, Sheen.Featured Image Credit: (Mark Sullivan/WireImage for Silver Spoon (formerly The Cabana) and Photo by MEGA/GC Images)

Next Pirates of the Caribbean movie confirmed to be a reboot

A producer on the film has spoken out

Great news film fans whose life was changed by watching the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise growing up – another film is still coming.

The next instalment in the iconic Disney series has been confirmed to be a reboot, according to producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

It has been seven years since the last film in the franchise, the underwhelming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales – and in that time a number of different ideas have been thrown around at Disney.

Disney

At one point, Pirates 6 was set to be starring Margot Robbie – though in late 2022, the Barbie star confirmed that Disney ‘don’t want to do it’, despite having previously received the green light.

When that news came out, everyone assumed that the sixth film in the franchise would return to Johnny Depp in the starring role as Jack Sparrow, though Bruckheimer’s announcement has thrown doubt on this.

Speaking to comicbook.com, Bruckheimer said: “We’re gonna reboot Pirates, so that is easier to put together because you don’t have to wait for certain actors.”

Whilst he doesn’t specifically state that the next Pirates film is set to move away from Depp – all signs seem to point in that direction.

The Barbie star was previously attached to her own female-led Pirates film.

This may not seem a surprise due to the actor’s controversial status following his legal battle with ex-wife, Amber Heard.

Bruckheimer, however, has previously expressed a desire to bring back the actor as Sparrow – after his controversial high-profile legal battle.

The producer said in 2023 when asked about Depp returning: “We’ll see. I would love it. I would love to have him in the movie – that’s all that I can tell you.”

The sixth film is being written by Craig Mazin, the writer behind The Last of Usand Chernobyl, and he is co-writing the script with Ted Elliot, who penned Shrek and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl.

Mazin spoke to the LA Times, where he called his script ‘weird’. He said: “We pitched it and thought there’s no way they’re buying it, it’s too weird. And they did! And then we wrote a fantastic script and the strike happened and everyone’s waiting around.”

Whilst no date has been set for production to start, with the writers’ strike now complete, it is expected that production will begin ramping up on Pirates 6.

Joachim Rønning is set to direct the film, with the Norwegian director returning from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Whilst no confirmation has been given as to who will star in the film, Black Pearl stars Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom both appeared in a post credits scene for the last film as their characters Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner.

We may not know who is going to star in it but one thing is certain: more Pirates of the Caribbean is always a good thing.Featured Image Credit: Disney

Lisa Marie Presley revealed sad reason she kept son's body at home two months after his death

Lisa Marie Presley revealed sad reason she kept son’s body at home two months after his death

The daughter of the King of Rock and Roll opened up about the loss of her beloved son in her posthumous memoir

Before her tragic death in January 2023, Lisa Marie Presley was penning a memoir about her incredible life as the only child of the King of Rock and Roll.

As well as detailing the trials and tribulations which come with being the daughter of a legend like Elvis, she also delved into her career, relationshipsparenting, and her experience with grief.

And one of the most heartbreaking revelations in her new book – which was released posthumously and completed by her daughter Riley Keough – is how she dealt with the death of her beloved son Benjamin in July 2020.

Presley’s memoir, titled From Here to the Great Unknown, hit the shelves yesterday (8 October) and has apparently been a real page-turner, according to fans of the late singer.

As well as dishing the dirt on her marriage to Michael Jackson, the 54-year-old opened up about the loss of arguably the two most important men in her life, and why she believes keeping their bodies at home benefited her.

Benjamin – who was affectionally referred to as ‘Ben Ben’ by those closest to him – was found dead in Calabasas, California, four years ago after taking his own life.

This obviously devastated the entire family, but Presley in particular was left ‘beyond devastated’ by the death of her child, who she previously said had an ‘uncanny’ resemblance to Elvis.

Discussing how she dealt with the tragedy, the mother-of-four explained that her Los Angeles home boasted a ‘separate casitas bedroom’ which is where she kept Ben’s corpse on dry ice for two months.

The 27-year-old’s body was kept in the separate room at 55 degrees.

“There is no law in the state of California that you have to bury someone immediately,” Presley wrote.

She praised a compassionate funeral home owner for helping her arrange the setup, while her daughter Riley added that it was ‘really important’ for Presley to ‘have ample time to say goodbye, the same way she did with her dad’ Elvis.

The singer was only nine years old when the Jailhouse Rock hitmaker passed away in 1977, and explains in her memoir that having his open casket in Graceland before his burial was ‘incredibly helpful’ in her grieving process.

Presley wrote that she got to ‘spend time’ and to ‘talk to’ her dad before saying her final goodbye, and wanted to replicate this when she was preparing to let Ben go too.

The mourning mother explained that she also kept her son’s body close because she was debating over whether to bury him in Hawaii or in Graceland alongside Elvis.

“That was part of why it took so long,” Presley explained in her memoir. “I got so used to him, caring for him and keeping him there. I think it would scare the living f**kng piss out of anybody else to have their son there like that. But not me.

“I felt so fortunate that there was a way that I could still parent him, delay it a bit longer so that I could become okay with laying him to rest.”

The book also reveals that before Ben’s burial, Presley and her daughter decided to get matching inkings in his honour and invited the tattoo artist in to see the ones he had so they could replicate them.

Elvis’ grandson had his sister’s name on his collarbone and his mother’s on his hand.

In From Here to the Great Unknown, Riley writes: “I’ve had an extremely absurd life, but this moment is in the top five.”

Shortly after their inkings were complete, the movie star, 35, explained that she and her relatives ‘got this vibe from Ben’ that he no longer wanted his body lingering in the family home.

Riley wrote: “‘Guys,’ he seemed to be saying, ‘This is getting weird’. Even my mom said that she could feel him talking to her, saying, ‘This is insane, Mom, what are you doing? What the f**k!'”

Ben was laid to rest alongside to his legendary grandfather in Graceland in October 2020, as Presley was following her passing last year following a small bowel obstruction.
