You surely want to know what you’re buying in that tub
Whether your favourite tub of chocolates is Celebrations, Heroes or Quality Street (nobody ever picks Roses), it’s likely that a tub of them will be put out over Christmas and slowly devoured by everyone passing by.
However, part of the deal is that, whichever tub you prefer, there will be some in there which you really don’t like very much and are hoping somebody else eats.
Celebrations used to be all about the Galaxy Truffle until they were discontinued in a grave injustice that has yet to be rectified, and so the second best Celebration, Maltesers, shifted up to being the best.
While you might think Bounty is everyone’s least favourite, a new survey of 4,000 Brits has indicated that the least favourite of the bunch is actually Mars.
Anyhow, given that you’re buying a bit of a mix it might be helpful to know about how much of each one you’re buying.
We owe this man a debt of gratitude, he bought eight tubs of Celebrations. For science. (TikTok/@charliemurphy50)
A bloke called Charlie Murphy decided he’d conduct a scientific experiment on the Celebrations tub by buying eight of them and figure out the averages.
He tipped all the contents out into a big pile and sifted the delicious chocolate into each tub by type, then counted each and every one.
The most scarce Celebration of all was the Galaxy Caramel, with just 48 of them across the eight tubs, meaning there were only six of them on average in a tub, and the plain Galaxy chocolate came out with the same numbers.
According to the recent survey, the Caramel is the third most popular celebration and the humble Galaxy chocolate was second favourite, so perhaps there ought to be more of them.
Next up was Twix, with 49 across the eight tubs so they were pretty much on the same level as the Caramel, but among the public, Twix is less popular as they’re the sixth most liked Celebration.
The Galaxy and Galaxy Caramel were the least plentiful in Celebrations. (TikTok/@charliemurphy50)
Murphy counted 55 of the much loved and admired Maltesers, the nation’s favourite Celebration, while there were 58 of the fifth favourite Bounty.
Mars might be the least favourite Celebration among Brits but the man counted a whopping 87 of them across the eight tubs and we’re starting to get into the chocs which you’ll see most of in a tub.
They were just edged out by Milky Way, coincidentally the second least favourite Celebration, with 88 of them from the eight tubs.
However, the most numerous of the whole bunch was Snickers with 89 across the eight tubs, and they’re the nation’s fourth favourite Celebration, so perhaps that’s good news for you.
Does this seem like a fair distribution, or do you wish your tub contained different amounts this Christmas?Featured Image Credit: TikTok/@charliemurphy50

Man rides horse through McDonald’s drive-thru to see if he’ll still get served
Imagine seeing this while queueing up for your Big Mac…
A man journeyed to his local McDonald’s on horseback to test out whether or not he’d get served – and viewers are amazed by the response.
All of us have wondered at one point how far we could push it when it comes to getting food from a drive-thru, who remembers people threatening to walk or cycle through one during the Covid-19 lockdown? However one man decided to put this theory to the test.

Taking to TikTok, a horse rider who goes by the username @Iggythearab decided to test out whether or not he could pick up breakfast from his local McDonald’s while on horseback.
Recording the whole experience for our viewing pleasure, the Welsh user can be seen clopping up to the intercom on top of his Arabian horse named Iggy and ordering himself a ‘sausage, bacon and egg McMuffin’ alongside a packet of apple slices for his four-legged friend.
As onlookers can be seen pointing and staring at the horse in the background, the user repeats his order before galloping along to the payment window, where he reassures staff that Iggy is well behaved.
“He’s friendly, honestly, else I wouldn’t have brought him here,” he said.
After triumphantly collecting the goods, the pair gallop off into the car-park to enjoy their breakfast treat, as the rider can be heard saying: “Success, didn’t think they’d serve us.”
Naturally the video went viral – because how often do you see a horse at your local McDonald’s? – prompting many viewers to share their reactions in the comments.
“Good thinking not to include a drink – no cup holder,” one person joked, while a second added: “He’s such a good boy but all I could imagine was him taking a dump in the drive thru.”
“Love how none of the workers reacted,” a third noted.

Can you ride a horse through a McDonald’s drive-thru?
The clip also prompted viewers to speculate on what the rules were when it came to drive-thrus – and we have some bad news for you.
According to the McDonald’s website, only ‘motor cars, vans, trucks, mopeds, motorbikes and road-worthy mobility scooters’ are permitted to use the drive-thru.
“The health and safety of our customers and employees is our top priority and for this reason we are unable to serve pedestrians, bicycle riders, non road-worthy mobility scooters, horse riders or any horse-drawn vehicles through the Drive-thru lane,” the website added.
Despite official guidelines prohibiting horse travel, it would appear that Iggy isn’t the first to visit a drive-thru, showing that some branches may be more lenient when it comes to welcoming our four-legged friends.Featured Image Credit: TikTok/iggypiggyy1

Major mistake people make to get yellow teeth even if they brush them twice a day
A lot of people make this same mistake, which can ruin the enamel on your teeth and turn them yellow
There’s a huge mistake that people are making when it comes to brushing their teeth, and it could save your smile for years to come.
We all know that the way a smile looks can massively change someone’s appearance, so when you find your teeth getting yellow – even though you’re brushing twice a day – it can be very frustrating.
Despite this odd occurrence, many people end up having their teeth whitened regardless, to give them that shiny new smile – but what if you want to keep it natural?
Isn’t this what we all want? (Getty Stock Photo)
Why do teeth go yellow?
The most common reason behind teeth going yellow is ageing, and as much as you want to fight it, this is unavoidable according to Didsbury Dental Practice.
Unless you want to get them whitened, your teeth will turn yellow even if you are incredibly attentive to them, say experts.
The enamel protecting your teeth wears away as time goes on, making your teeth more susceptible to staining.
Some people have less enamel on their teeth in general, meaning that their teeth will become yellow quicker than for those with a thicker layer.
As well as this, factors such as oral hygiene, diet, smoking and medication can affect how easily stained your teeth are – but, what is the common mistake that people keep making that is ruining their gnashers?

What is causing teeth to go yellow quicker?
After eating breakfast and having your coffee, you might rush to brush your teeth to get the taste of it all out of your mouth, but it turns out that this may not be the smartest move.
In fact, you should wait at least 30 minutes before brushing or flossing your teeth, as doing it too soon after could actually make your situation worse.
It pushes the harmful acids further into our teeth, which explains why dentists usually recommend soft toothbrushes rather than medium or hard ones, as those can brush your enamel away.
In fact, dentists recommend that you brush your teeth before eating breakfast, as the bacteria that builds up in your mouth overnight will feed on the sugars of breakfast.
But what are the main factors that can affect the colour of teeth?

Food and drink
When it comes to diet, certain foods can cause your teeth to turn yellow by sticking to your enamel, with acidic drinks such as coffee or tea also giving the bacteria in your mouth a naturally staining acid that can harm your enamel and bind the colour to your teeth.
Other foods such as fruit juices, bread, cereal, and pastries, are damaging to your teeth, so the bottom line is that it’s crucial that you brush your teeth before breakfast to avoid discolouration.
Oral Hygiene
Brushing and flossing twice a day is crucial, and can lead to plaque build-up, once again damaging the enamel on our teeth.
Smoking
Smoking is already harmful to our lung and heart health, though it does unsurprisingly also impact the mouth.
Tar and nicotine from tobacco can attach themselves to enamel and cause your teeth to turn yellow over time.
Medication
Certain medication can cause yellowing of the teeth, so it’s always best to look at the list of side effects before using certain medicines.Featured Image Credit: Getty Stock Photos

Man reveals staggering amount it cost to eat at ‘world’s loneliest restaurant’ that’s three metres underwater
The Michelin-star restaurant has even been compared to Mark Mylod’s movie The Menu
One man has taken it upon himself to eat at the ‘world’s loneliest restaurant’ and document his experience.
A lot of us might classify ourselves as foodies, but this content creator has brought a whole new meaning to the term.
Harrison Webb is a YouTuber with over 818,000 subscribers that shares his unique food experiences with fans, such as ‘Visiting the most expensive grocery store in London‘ and comparing ‘$7 vs $115 English Breakfast’.
But now, he has taken it upon himself to go through a one-of-a-kind dining experience in a video titled ‘Visiting the World’s Loneliest Restaurant’.

The Brit flew to Norway before renting a car and driving for five hours to a pier, where he would board a ferry to the secluded restaurant called Iris in Rosendal.
It’s a lot of effort for a video, you have to say.
He provided some context of how exclusive the ‘The Sommelier’s Expedition’ experience at the restaurant was, explaining that it would cost 17,500 NOK, or £1,242, for a five to six hour dining event at the Michelin-star establishment.
Webb also noted that he and his mate/camera man were the first English people to visit the experience.
Firstly, they went down some steps in the building to watch a video and eat three feet below the surface, as fancy chips and dip were handed out.Play
After that, they made their way to the top of the dome, and while Webb took the non-alcoholic pairing, his friend picked the alcohol option, as they were served some organic food on peculiar plates.
Everything served to them was within 500 feet of the restaurant too, which is located in the middle of a lake.
Providing him with a holder for his bag while also doing the standard actions of pulling the chair out and folding the napkin, Webb was impressed.
On top of all of this, the duo were treated to views of the surrounding mountains and waterfalls in the distance, all while floating on a Norwegian lake.

Reflecting on the experience, he called the dessert ‘unbelievable’, noting that he had ‘never had anything like that in my life’.
Webb even rated one of the main dishes an impressive 9.8/10, enjoying the experience.
Comparing the restaurant to one in the film The Menu, Webb admitted that the food lived up to the hype.
That’s another once-in-a-lifetime experience for him then, but would you want to go through this dining experience too?Featured Image Credit: YouTube/Harrison Webb/kvorning.dk

Doctor has shared worrying concern about people who binge-drink before Christmas Day
Over 60 percent of drinkers in the UK consume more alcohol than they normally do during the Christmas period
It’s pretty well accepted that, as a nation, we drink a little more than normal over the festive season.
Over Christmas, you’re meeting up with friends and family, heading on your work dos, and probably indulging a little more, attempting to adjust to the miserable weather.
So, it comes as no surprise that over 60 percent of drinkers in the UK consume more alcohol than they normally do during the Christmas period, according to Drinkaware.
The alcohol charity said their poll showed that ‘drinkers who work are also more likely to feel pressured to drink at their festive work party (33 percent) than other times of year’.

What happens when you binge drink
Dr Patrick Kennedy, consultant hepatologist and gastroenterologist at King Edward VII’s hospital, told Huffington Post: “There is no question that excess alcohol consumption and any increased drinking pattern – typical of the pre-Christmas spike – has a major impact on our health.
“Too often, we also overlook the negative impact alcohol has on our general health affecting the brain, the heart, our skin, in addition to its association with many cancers.
“My concern is around liver damage and potential for repeated spikes to cause liver injury, which ultimately can lead to chronic liver disease.”

Why doctors worry about binge-drinking this time of the year
Kennedy said: “Of course health professionals worry about this time of year as it is synonymous with excess.
“Increased drinking patterns above the ‘normal’ background level of alcohol consumption can be enough to precipitate liver related problems or symptoms.”
The doctor warns that thinking, ‘It’s only one month of the year,’ is similar ‘to the just one more drink’ culture.
“The effects of alcohol are cumulative, the more you drink, the greater the risk,” he said.

How much should you drink?
The NHS advises people to not regularly drink more than 14 units a week.
One unit of alcohol is 8g or 10ml of pure alcohol, which is about half a pint of lower to normal-strength lager/beer/cider (ABV 3.6 percent), a single small shot measure (25ml) of spirits (25ml, ABV 40 percent), or a small glass (125ml, ABV 12 percent) of wine containing about 1.5 units of alcohol.
Providing a more simple method, Dr Kennedy said: “The most simple intervention that I recommend is consecutive alcohol-free days. I usually recommend 3-4 consecutive alcohol-free days per week.”
Please drink responsibly. If you want to discuss any issues relating to alcohol in confidence, contact Drinkline on 0300 123 1110, 9am–8pm weekdays and 11am–4pm weekends for advice and support.
